My Cousin Capt. Ruth Dean who was an Air Force Veteran passed in 2021 and we could not locate her DD214. Mr. Marvin Puente was very helpful in assisting the family in getting her approved for a military burial at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery since her military records were lost in a fire in 1973 at the Military Personel Records Center in St Louis. There was some delay in getting her military service verified and approved but Puente & Sons were very patient is waiting for the approval from the government and we were able to bury her in 2022. They kept us informed and updated during the waiting period and were very professional in handling the funeral from start to finish. My mother passed away in early August. Due to some issues around her death she needed to be kept at Puente and Sons for an extended amount of time. Everyone at Puente and Sons went above and beyond to help myself and my family during this difficult time. I can't say enough about how amazing this company is. I highly recommend them. When we lost our son at birth 7 years ago, there were so many choices to make in a short matter of time. It was overwhelming and tiresome. Puente & Sons were comforting and patient. We decided to have direct cremation as this was more personal. I am still touched by how they took care of my baby and held my hand through the process. I truly feel I was led by God to the right people in my life at that moment.

I have used Puente Funeral Home in the past and I have been extremely pleased with the services they provide. Mr. Puente is a very nice man and his daughter is a very nice lady who work with you and are very Professional. Both of my services were cremation. The 1st one was for my daughter who passed away at 5 months into my pregnancy. I remember Mrs. Puente who knows how to sew she made my daughters dress smaller and made her a Beautiful bonnet with the rest of the material and also some little bloomers. My mother and sister passed away to covid. I was under quarentine after I left the hospital. I couldn't do anything Mr. Puente, Bea, and the whole staff made the process easy and no stress. Bea made it possible to have both funerals on the same date. Also she made it very easy to choose the prayer cards and flowers. Which another funeral home made it impossible with no options with my other sister that had passes away from covid earlier. I highly recommend Puente & Sons.

We were caught completely off-guard with the passing of our beloved mother. In attempting to educate myself and make sound decisions, Bea from Puente & Sons answered numerous questions, calls and even provided helpful numbers without hesitation. Actually, her closing statement on the call was “even if you do not choose our services, please do not hesitate to call me for any assistance”. The dedication and commitment to the families during the time of need is beyond what one could even imagine to receive. No gimmicks, no sales pitch, no falsehoods, etc...just genuine family owned and operated professionals. We were truly blessed in finding Puente & Sons!

I was very impressed by the high level of compassionate service that I received from every person I worked with here at Puente and Sons with the death of my husband.. They were very accommodating, reverent, respectful, patient, willing to do whatever they needed to, and just all around kind, polite people. Funerals and the death of your loved one is very emotional. They are VERY reasonable priced. I will DEFINITELY choose Puente and Sons on S Flores, San Antonio in the future. Let me start by saying that I do not normally leave comments, but the service that I received from Puente & Sons was so exceptional that I felt that I needed to express my thanks. Not being from the area I didn’t have a clue as to what funeral home I was going to choose to help me through this difficult time, but the minute I spoke to Judy about my husband’s impending death , I knew that I had found a “home” for him. Judy helped ease my concerns about the cremation process. Once the time came, from the moment that Mr. Puente’s sons picked up my husband to the moment that he was returned to me, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism. During one of the lowest points in my life, all of the wonderful people at Puente guided me with care and support in what could've been an excruciating process. I was completely lost. We moved to the greater San Antonio area to follow our daughter. My beloved husband began to spiral downward 1 month after we arrived, and died 2 months later. I was devastated and numb. The Puente people walked me through every decision, pretty much "holding my hand." I honestly don't know how it would've ended up without them. They maintained my husband's body as long as I needed, at no cost, until I made my decisions--without a signed contract or any binding commitment from me. They also gave me a huge discount for my husband's cremation costs, including preparation of his remains and paperwork for our transport to Southern California to his final resting place. Please carefully consider Puente to help you with the many decisions and options we must make to take final care of our loved ones. Whether you're in a situation like me, not prepared, or want to make pre-need arrangements, they're the best I found.

I want to personally thank Puente & Sons on behalf of my beloved daughter-in-law, Tina. Her father passed away unexpectedly, three days before Christmas, and Tina was devastated. From our first phone call to the final good-bye, Puente & Sons did everything in their power to make this process as comforting as possible. Mr. Guillermo Puente gave us information and advice without a sales pitch, and Mr. Bradley took us step-by-step through the process. Most impressive of all was Judy Kollias - her kindness, gentleness and patience were matched by her determination to provide Tina with exactly what she wanted, in particular, the "Farewell Gathering." Despite the odds, an unpredictable relative, and the extra time it took, this final viewing gave Tina an opportunity to replace hurt with healing. Thank you, Judy. I dearly love this "daughter of my heart, " and deeply appreciate all you did for her - God bless you.

In such a difficult time these people were a great comfort. First of all, our family wanted a simple cremation with no frills or other services. Puente and Sons did not try to sell us a lot of extra unneeded services or fees. It was the ONLY place that did not try to take advantage of our situation to squeeze money out of us. Second, at a very late time of night, they came promptly and very elegantly removed the body from our home, dressed nicely, with nice equipment, gave us time to say our goodbyes. Everything was done with utmost compassion and respect. I really cannot say enough good things about them. I thank God that I found them in my time of need.

I spoke with Guillermo who was so patient and took great care in explaining cost and options for my brothers cremation. The people who came to pick my brother up were so kind and asked if they could do anything for us. Upon visiting Puente and sons, Sid was our director and was just great. I could not have been treated any better or had more respect shown for my brother than I received here. I intend to make my own arrangements here. Highly recommend.

Both my parents received loving, knowledgeable and professional treatment from this family owned and operated company. They treat people like valuable human beings, not grieving persons to be manipulated for profit. I was present when both my mother died and my father died 6 months later and the funeral directors handle the bodies with great respect and care. They were thorough with all the planning, documents and made sure I had no worries and was free to experience the service without distraction. Most employees are retired military and they made the military honors service appropriate and special.

Dear Puente & Son’s Staff, I would like to formally thank you for the exquisite treatment my mother and family received during this extremely difficult time of loss. Without the help and assurance that everything was taken care of, I don’t believe I would have been able to get myself, husband and daughters on the plane and to Texas without an anxiety attack, for this I feel forever indebted to your staff. My father knew his day was coming soon, and did not want my mother to be burdened by the arrangements of the cremation. When hospice was introduced into the picture, he called upon Stacey to come and see him in the hospital. She was prepared with all the necessary paperwork in hand when she went to the hospital to tie up any loose ends. He made her promise him she would be the one to pick him up from our home, when it was time. Like no other would have done, she kept her promise, even though she was in the middle of her summer vacation. The sympathetic yet professional procedures your staff provided our family is priceless to me. There was nothing for us to do but begin to heal. The personal treatment we were given has left an impression of ever-lasting thanks and appreciation for your staff and company. I am not one that handles these situations very well, but because we had the company of your staff throughout the process, it did not become more painful. Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels helped my family through the necessary procedures and we were never left wondering or frustrated. We were able to focus on the loss of a precious and very important man. My father was a very remarkable man, who deserved the upmost respect in his time of passing. I truly believe from the bottom of my heart that he was treated in death, as he would have demanded in life. Thank you so very much for the pride, ethics, sympathetic, and caring ways of your staff. It truly means the world to my family and I am assured that other families as well will feel the same.
